Worship Is A Weapon

‘As soon as they started shouting and praising, God set ambushes against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir as they were attacking Judah, and they all ended up dead.’
– 2 Chronicles 20: 22 (MSG)

“Without worship, we go about miserable.”
– A. W. Tozer

Warring is not convenient. It is a tough challenge mixed with lots of uncertainty and threat of annihilation but with an opportunity of relief and celebration if it turns out favorable.

With this definition in mind, you will see that we are all in a war of a kind, whether for your marriage, your career, health, finance, ministry, relationships, community, or nation.

Life truly is fraught with battles but in Christ victory is assured.

How then are we to fight these battles and obtain the much-promised victory in Christ?

One sure weapon that is critical to our winning this war is a heart of worship.

Yes! giving of thanks, praise, exultation, and adulation of God, Our Father.

The book of Psalm in chapter 22, referring to God in verse 3 says; But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel (God’s people).

Beloved, Thanksgiving and praise is an open invitation that God cannot and does not resist. It brings down His presence into any place, life or situation.

The moment you fix your heart on God and configure your mind to see that God is mighty and to be praised, you bring Him into the situation. And invariably everything will fall into place.

When you read 2 Chronicles 20:22, you will notice that as soon as they began to praise God, events began to unfold. The situation began to realign. God moved in with all his majesty, glory and power.

What ought we to do then? You must put your challenges in the right perspective. Remind yourself (always) of just how awesome God, our Father is.

Psalm 8:1 Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens.

The devil will want to make you feel despondent, unhappy, or melancholic due to contrary winds. Circumstances and the world system will pressure you to focus on what you are missing.

But switch on your weapon of worship and praise mood, make it a daily, regular, lifestyle habit. Then your opportunity of deliverance, relief, celebration, and victory in the war is guaranteed.

O God! Holy, Faithful, All-powerful, Majestic and Awesome Creator and Owner of All. I bless you, Lord! I bless your Holy Name. I give you thanks for who you are, you are love. And your love never ceases. Thank you for this day, this month, this year, this season and this life you’ve given me. May your name be exalted in my life and in all the earth today and always. Amen.
