Who Loves You?
” Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away….”
– Songs of Solomon 8:7a
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?… neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
– Romans 8:35,39
Many times there arises a gnawing doubt in the hearts of many of God’s people as to whether God loves them or not.
Many times our shortcomings and failures reinforce this doubt and this feeling of separation keeps one chained to a life of fear.
We often approach God fearful of His response, begging for a little morsel of blessing, like bastards in the courts of an angry lord. This ought not to be!
In Christ the love of the Godhead is assured. It is your love for Him that maybe questionable and often in doubt. The Father loves you.
He may not love all the things you do and daily urges you to be better, but there must be a settling of heart…in Christ, the Love of the Father is assured.
This is the basis of faith when you pray, knowing that nothing can keep you away from His love. Recognize that the feeling of unworthiness you feel is not that the Father has ceased to love you, but rather it is a signal of your own failure in loving Him perfectly.
Let this be established in your heart…the Father loves you. The question you should rather ask is, “do you love the Father?”
In Jesus Name I declare I love the Lord my God with all of my heart, all of my might and all of my soul. I’m in love with Jesus my redeemer, my Saviour and my Lord. Sweet Holy Spirit, I love you more than life itself. Help me to love you more and more I pray.Amen
