(My Leader,Mentor,& Friend)

“The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot” (Prov 10:7)

Did you know Dr.Myles? How I wish you did? Such boisterous purposeful personality and Christian Statesman. Every one was important to Dr Myles. He saw a leader in everyone.

Whenever you sat with him at dinner he reminded you exactly of Jesus in the Last Supper room. His favourite was always Pork spare ribs which he ate with such glee and in front of his best friend, Pastor Ruth his vegetarian wife(who he always taunted whether she wanted some). He was a Foodie!

You told me “be yourself” and blessed me with Phil 1:6.

You thought us to live above titles. You always said the best title one should have is Mr/Mrs before one’s name.

You thought me cross-over ministry and how to preach the gospel of the kingdom and help the unbelieving relate with the Jesus discourse!

I remembered being on the same flight with you once and how you humbly left your First Class cabin to come greet me in the Economy class where I was because an air hostess told you I was reading your book. And then we chatted away. I shall cherish that memory forever!!!

I just want to let you know that same book ‘Passing It On’ (with your Phil 1:6 autograph) sits in a special place in my book shelf.I bet you knew time was itching close, I think you knew…

I even heard that among your last media interviews was the one you gave at KTN’s JKL Show where you spoke about how you will love to die on October 24.

“I want to challenge every Kenyan to go to the cemetery and disappoint the graveyard. Die like the Apostle Paul who said I have finished my course, I have kept the faith and I have been poured out like a drink offering. There is nothing left. I am ready to die. That’s how I wanna die because there is nothing else for me left to die,” he told the show’s host, Jeff Koinange.

“When you die, die like I am planning to die. Empty. It’s finished,” You added in the show.

You ran well ‘Papa Myles’ and now eternal rewards await you, your wife Pastor Ruth and your entire team of the ill-fated plane crash.

You have passed on the baton and we promise will keep on the race to the FINISH!

Rest Well Most Beloved Papa Myles!
