In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
– 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV)
Many times, we feel we are at a loss as regards the will of God. What does God really want me to do? Well, this scripture is direct regarding this.
We should never ever get so goal driven that we become ungrateful or unthankful. Infact, in everything give thanks.
The Bible instructs us to package our petitions, supplications, requests, prayers with gratefulness and thanksgiving. This means that the acceptable way to pray is to do so thankfully in full assurance that Big Daddy is listening.
There is a traditional Yoruba song that says;
“Opel’onje re, Ki Je eba, ki je ikokore, Ope l’onje re” (translated -Thanks is God’s food, He doesn’t eat food like humans, Praise is His food”).
God, our creator, and Savior deserve a heart of worship and thanksgiving. Some have gone further to call it Thanks-Living.
God has done all that needs to be done. It is left for us to discover and recover.
He is surely bringing you into the broad place of overflow and full restoration. It is all yours on discovery,
Whatever you are grateful for grows. You think you don’t have enough, be grateful for what you have. You feel like you have so much, be thankful for all you have.

We serve a great, gracious and mighty God. Give Him thanks all day, every day.
Dear God, you made sky and soil, sea and all the fish in it.
You always do what you say— You defend the wronged, and feeds the hungry.
God frees prisoners— he gives sight to the blind,
he lifts up the fallen.
God loves good people, protects strangers,
takes the side of orphans and widows,
but makes short work of the wicked.
God’s in charge—always.
My God is God for good!
Hallelujah! Praise the Lord.
In Jesus Name. Amen
