“Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.” – 2 Corinthians 3:5 (NIV)

In embracing God’s word, you must be careful not to take it for granted. You must continually value that which Heaven supplies, because by yourself you are grossly insufficient.

If man could on his own sort himself out or deliver himself from the steel grasp of Satan he would have done so long ago, but as the Apostle Paul declared, It is God’s grace that sustains us on every front, so we must be careful to return all praise and glory to Him.

Be careful not to be like the Children of Israel who at some point began to despise the Manna with which God fed them. Hear them….”Who shall give us meat to eat?  We remember the fish, which we ate in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick; But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna…” (Num 11:4-6).

One can almost hear the contempt in their voice as they spoke. What they did not realize was that they were rejecting what the bible called “Angel’s Food”. Worse still, the Old Testament being a shadow of things to come, they had unwittingly despised the “Bread of Life” (John 6:48), Our Lord Jesus Christ!

Living under God’s instructions does not mean that there won’t be battles to be fought and sacrifices to be made. However, no matter the travail, you must be careful not to conclude or assume that your past life (one without Christ) was preferable to your present experience with Jesus.

The Israelites fell into this trap and longed to return to Egypt. They momentarily forgot the great deliverance from a great bondage in Egypt and began to wish for its pleasures.

As you move forward to higher ground, and as you confront all challenges on your path to advance in 2016, please never waver in your faith in Christ.

Never despise His word, nor His power. Never compare anything to His unfailing mercy and grace, and never compare Him with anything mundane.

He gave everything up for YOU, and if you haven’t experienced God’s fullness, it is not because He isn’t good, it’s because you are yet to press in fully.

So press in for more through knowledge and prayer! God’s promises will not benefit you much if you do not mix it with faith! Journey on!

In Jesus Name I declare I arise with the force of faith into new frontiers and territories this year. I receive the fullness of all that God has in store for me and I do not waver or doubt His instructions. I receive divine grace and power to accomplish all in Jesus Name. Amen.
