Live The Promise
”And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.”
– Luke 4:20-21
“God never made a promise that was too good to be true.”
― Dwight L. Moody
Do you know what God has promised you?
Jesus opened to the book of Prophet Isaiah and said… today this word is fulfilled in your ears.
Obama took Mark 11 and personalized it. Simply audacious!
A popular gospel singer and songwriter penned a wonderful piece from Mary’s confession of faith in Luke 1:38, (here is a paraphrase); “ be it unto me according to your word, according to your promises I can stand secure. Carve upon my heart, the truth that sets me free, according to your word O Lord be it unto me”…
It goes to show that one is only as secure as the promises you take to heart. Whatever the situation that presents itself, you can only draw strength from what is deposited in you.
Yes! Whatever be the challenge, search the Bible for promises of the solution and begin to apply them in prayer.
But I was told I need a special word from God, Really. That will come as you apply the written word.
Don’t live life on an empty tank, fill up with the written word.
All scripture is written by God’s inspiration and it’s profitable!
Then as you claim what is written, you will stumble into and receive your own special word by revelation and like nitro gas in a car racing video game, you will the boost to speed off in flight.
Dear friend, arise and fill yourself with God’s word. Do not wait till you are swarmed with life-threatening challenges or a difficult situation.
Keep accelerating with the word, in due course a revealed word will jump in and boost your speed. Otherwise, the revealed word boost will only do little or nothing due to your lack of motion.
Charles Spurgeon wrote in one of his books,
“The best praying man is the man who is most believingly familiar with the promises of God. After all, prayer is nothing but taking God’s promises to him, and saying to him, “Do as thou hast said.” Prayer is the promise utilized. A prayer which is not based on a promise has no true foundation.” (Encouraged to Pray: Classic Sermons on Prayer)
Read the word voraciously. Meditate on the word everywhere you go. Prayerfully confess the word every time and see your life rise in fruitfulness.
Dear God Almighty, be gracious to me and bless me and make your face shine on me so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.
May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.
May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth.
May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you. The land yields its harvest; God, our God, blesses us.
May God bless me still, so that all the ends of the earth will fear him. In Jesus Name. Amen.
