How Do You See?
“If you only have faith in God– this is the absolute truth– you can SAY to this Mount of Olives, rise up and fall into the Mediterranean, ‘and your command will be obeyed. All that’s required is that you really believe and have no doubt!”
– Mark 11:22-24 (Living Bible Translation)
A top executive from Norway was visiting Nigeria for the first time. When asked in an interview about his distribution strategy for a telecom business, he said the “problem here is there are no high street shops like in Europe. I need access to large supermarkets, like in Europe.”
The interviewer replied him that Nigeria had the largest supermarkets in the world. “Where are they he asked? I have been walking all over, and I have not seen any; can you show me?”
So, he was invited to the window, of the 10th-floor building, where they were meeting. “There…See! The largest supermarket, in the world!”. As he strained to see, there it was, a street in Lagos full of lively vendors selling everything you could imagine. There was even a young man slaying a goat, “fresh meat section dear friend!”.
As they sat down the interviewer opined, “there is everything there, that makes a supermarket, what has the roof got to do with it?” Sadly, the Norwegian executive still could not see it as it didn’t fit into his pre-conceptions.
Contrast this with the slogan used by the former President Obama in his first campaign; “Yes We Can”, that was based on a very powerful spiritual principle.
Mark 11:22-24 (Living Bible Translation)
In reply Jesus said to the disciples, “If you only have faith in God– this is the absolute truth– you can SAY to this Mount of Olives, rise up and fall into the Mediterranean, ‘and your command will be obeyed. All that’s required is that you really believe and have no doubt!
No wonder he became the first ever black president in the most powerful country on earth.
Listen to me! You can pray for anything, and if you believe, you have it, it’s yours!
For candidate Obama, the “mountain” was the Presidency of the United States, and he was “saying” to it: yes we can!
For us as an assembly, the mountain was completing a new auditorium and moving into within 12 months in a depressed economy with a quit notice hanging on our head.
What is your mountain?
What is your “faith” declaration to it in 2019?
“Listen to me! You can pray for anything, and if you believe you have it, it’s yours!”… The words of the Master to you and me!
You don’t have a money problem, you have a faith problem!
Pray (according to the promise of God), make faith declaration, expect to see results even in the most unlikely places or unusual ways.
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for being ever so faithful to your word. Show me the promise you have for me in your word. I believe your word! Help me to really believe without any doubt. In Jesus Name I pray
