For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
– Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV)
It’s a well-worn cliche that you can’t run from God.
There’s an amazing song that reminds us that His love is wider and deeper than the biggest ocean, and, in fact, is described as four-dimensional (breadth, width, height, and depth), which is beyond the scope of 3-dimensional human reasoning.
In His unfathomable four-dimensional love, He’s actively pursuing a passionate relationship with us each day, even when we’re actively ‘running’ from Him.
Peter Larson, An author, describes this phenomenon of immeasurable love more succinctly than I. Hear him:
Despite our efforts to keep Him out, God intrudes. The life of Jesus is bracketed by two impossibilities: a virgin’s womb and an empty tomb. Jesus entered our world through a door marked, “No Entrance” and left through a door marked “No Exit.” – Peter Larson
So if today you find yourself running from His love, whether you realize it or not you’re running towards His mercy and grace, and if you’re running from that then you’re running towards His Heart that’s breaking for you. No matter where you run…He is there!
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for your love. Thank you for creating me in your image. Thank you for your eternal and immeasurable love for me. May the revelation of your love for me be as real as daylight to me all the days of my life. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
