“There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?”
– Luke 7: 41-42 (NKJV) (Read Vs 36-50)

In a world where we are daily bombarded with news of people caught in moral failures, and acts inimical to the Will of God, we need to seek for how to help as many as are willing out of their misery rather than gloat in their spiritual failure.

God sent His Son into the world to save it, not condemn it.

John 3:17 – For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Jesus came to restore all men to God and not to cast them away from Him!

He welcomes all people regardless of their moral, financial, emotional or physical state.

In Luke 7:36-50, Jesus demonstrated this love for restoration. While being the guest of a deeply religious man called Simon, Jesus gave audience to the ‘Good’ (the righteous, elite, educated, affluent) as well as to the ‘Bad’ (the unrighteous, weak, uneducated, sinners, poor, outcast).

He expects us to do the same.

He did not judge or condemn people on the basis of their moral state but rather sought for ways to help them out of it once they showed by their act of repentance that they were willing to embrace His Pardon.

So be careful not to discriminate against people based on your perceived physical ratings. God’s heart is ever more open to the cry of a truly repentant and sincere ‘sinner’ than to the boasts of a self-righteous man.

Be careful not to pass judgment hastily on anyone because of their seemingly ugly past. Rather offer all the hope of reconciliation, forgiveness and the inner healing that the grace of Jesus already provides through His Death and Resurrection!

Rom.8:1 there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

In Jesus’ Name, the hold of sin is broken!

In Jesus Name I declare I walk by faith, not by sight. I live by the Spirit, not by the flesh. I am justified, not condemned. Sin no longer has dominion over me, for the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in me and quickens my soul and body to the glory of God. I am an ambassador of Christ. I spread the good news of reconciliation, love, forgiveness, and salvation in Christ everywhere I go. Amen
