“Except ye be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven”. Matthew 18:3

Societal advances have taken mankind to a point where he is bold enough to tackle his daily challenges. So many ideas and philosophies for success abound that people increasingly look down on Christianity as a solution for only the poor and ignorant. What arrogance!

Jesus saw this trend and advised us all to be like children with regard to the things of God. Heaven and all the benefits of “The Kingdom” are accessible to those with childlike faith.

These “children” irrespective of their real ages, are able to receive the fullness of God’s power, not corrupting it with many worldly ideas, schemes, thoughts, concepts, philosophies, strategies and earthly solutions.

Paul warns in Col:2:8: “See to it that no one carries you off as …captive by his so-called philosophy and intellectualism and vain deceit…, following men’s ideas of the material rather than the spiritual world…following the rudimentary and elemental teachings of the universe and disregarding [the teachings of] Christ (the Messiah).

And John exhorts in 1John:4:4: “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world”.

Can you see that childlike faith overcomes? Paul contrasted this childlike faith to the “high-minded” nature of those who consider themselves successful.

See what he says in 1Tm:6:17: Warn them that are rich (or successful) in this world, that they be not high minded (proud or arrogant),trusting in their uncertain riches (and success), but in the living God…”  Remember that God resists the proud hearted.

So what gives you confidence dear friend? Your beauty? Connections? Educational achievement? Societal status? Wealth? Accolades and accomplishments? All these are good, but none of these things touches heaven to bring down God’s Power.

Only Faith in God can do that-Childlike faith: humble, pure, willing to receive, not complicated, or argumentative…such faith that takes God at His Word. This is what we must thirst for.

So as you grow, learn and advance in knowledge, remain as a child concerning faith in God, be ready to declare “amen” every time, even when the promise seems outlandish. That is the way to embrace the benefits of Gods Kingdom. Have faith!
In Jesus Name I declare greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world, I overcome all the whims and caprices of the evil one. The Almighty God is my God and in Him alone I put my trust. All His promises are sure and will be manifest in my life today and always. Amen.
