Do It Again! Don’t Quit!
“When I was young I observed that nine out of ten things I did were failures, so I did ten times more work”
– George Bernard Shaw.
A Yoruba proverb captured this quite aptly when it says: “When you fall off while mounting a horse, dust yourself up and mount it again!”. Life’s success answers to those who never give up.
Simply put, when you fail, attempt it again!
One of the most famous failures within the ranks of high influential personalities could very well be said to be of Abraham Lincoln; who is probably the greatest example of persistence on grounds of his many failures. If you want to learn about somebody who didn’t quit, look no further.
Born into poverty, Lincoln was faced with defeat throughout his life. He lost eight elections, twice failed in business and suffered a nervous breakdown.
He could have quit many times, but he didn’t and because he didn’t quit, he became one of the greatest presidents in the history of United States Of America.
Lincoln was a champion and he never gave up.
One of his most famous quotes is “Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm”.
After several failed but unwavering attempts, he finally became elected president of the United States in 1860.
What matters most is not how many times you fail, but that you never stop trying.
“Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.”
In the Name of the Lord Jesus, I declare that because the Lord is my light, I rise above the darkness and failures of this world and I overcome every disappointment. This day, my light shines in the midst of darkness. Amen.
