Change Your Mind
‘My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you. Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.” ‘
– Job 42:5-6 (NIV)
As a believer, you should embrace the word repent. It is a clear sign of maturity and growth in the things of God.
Romans 12:2 says ‘Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will…’
In our journey of faith, the Spirit of God will expose some wrong ideologies, principles or habits in your life that you will need to drop in order to get to your desired next level.
It is important for you to take the leading, and change your mindset to what the Spirit asks of you. Don’t fight it, don’t use others as your compliance yardstick, simply follow the lead of the Spirit.
Job 49:4-6 showed us what happened to the righteous Job had a personal prophetic encounter with God. The message translation puts it this way; ... I admit I once lived by rumors of you; now I have it all firsthand—from my own eyes and ears! I’m sorry—forgive me. I’ll never do that again, I promise! I’ll never again live on crusts of hearsay, crumbs of rumor.”
Job realized some wrong belief systems and principles he had and needed a repentance and a renewal, most especially his fear of the unknown.
The honest truth is that whatever goes wrong in a believer’s life is traceable to him/her. Don’t blame it on anyone else, not your family, spouse, circumstances, anyone or anything.
It may have crept in due to negligence, disobedience, indecision, prayerlessness, wrong association, whatever or it’s a straight test from God as part of the process to your becoming.
So look inwards and search within you, repent of every action or inaction that God is pointing his finger at in your life.
The blood of Jesus is forever potent to cleanse. Receive His cleansing, then go and manage your freedom. Become more deliberate and intentional about your life.
Your Restoration is fully guaranteed.
Dear Heavenly Father, I ask and receive grace to be sober and vigilant. I repent of every wrong ideologies, principles, or habit that hinder me from experiencing full restoration. I do not conform to the pattern of this world but I am transformed as I renew my mind daily. I am cleansed by the blood of Jesus and Now, I receive double for all I have lost in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen.
