Celebrating A Man of Prayer – Pastor Tokunbo Beulah Johnson

… You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.  When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

– James 4:2-3

It is settled that God wants to do amazing things in and through our lives as children of God. We have His word for it and we know He is not a man that He should lie. If he says it, He means it and will definitely do it.

How then can we tap into this restoration promises immediately?
How can we begin to download and install the blessings of God?

To download an App on a phone, you will have to go to the store of the device, be it play store for android, app store for apple products, and others as it may apply.

The storehosue of God’s blessing is harnessed when we PRAY. Yes! Pray.

There is a simple acronym we might all know;

P is for praise, the bible says lets enter into His presence with praise and thanksgiving. God inhabits the praise of His people. The best protocol when you want to receive from God is to approach with a heart of praise. Praise is a sign of trust and faith. It means we believe that God is abundantly able to deliver.

R – Repent; God says return to me and I will return to you. You must change your mind regarding any act, principle or thought that you are holding onto that is ungodly. Return to God. Whatever He points his finger at, drop it, turn from it. It shows we reverence God.

A- Ask. This is the part most of us are used to. We are always in a hurry to bring our request to God in a seemingly rude manner. Not that God bothers anyway, but you will agree that a well behaved child will probably be answered before a rude child. Even though they are both children. To ask is to state your needs, wants or desires clearly and specifically, no ambiguities. Say it the way it is, what is the pain point, what do you think the solution is and what you will like to happen. Asking shows that we trust God as a Father. It is a sign that we recognize Him as Father and creator.

Y – Yield. You have made your request known so stop scheming God. Allow God to work it out in His own way. Listen to what He wants you to do but let Him have the right of way. Don’t get cocky with Him, don’t try to arm-twist him. He knows best and will give you the best. Yielding to God, frees us from worry and anxiety. It places the demand on God and keeps negative evil suggestions at bay.

Permit me to celebrate a man who is such a reference, a testimony and an icon of prayer to us as an assembly in The Capstone. He is the visioneer and pioneer of this  daily devotional. A Man of Prayer he is.

He has taught us with his life, action and words that everything answers to one who prays and stays in the presence of the Father of fathers. Unashamedly he has hours of prayer that he does not compromise for anything.

Join us to celebrate a true icon in the kingdom, a man of God’s presence, an apostle to this generation and the Senior Pastor of The Capstone, Tokunbo Beulah Johnson as he marks his birthday today.

The best gift you can give him is to adopt the acronym to PRAY.
Now that you know the storehouse, its up to you to download and install all the promises from God

Happy Pray-ing!
