Treat Others The Way You Want To Be Treated
“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
– Galatians 6:10
When we were kids we learned from our parents and Sunday school teachers to do good. I fear that a lot of these simple teachings are fast disappearing. We are tending to be more spiritual but less ‘good’. It shows in our relationships at work, at home and in the community.
Think about this;
How often do you share without expecting any favour in return?
What about the occasional wave/salutation to someone you know on the street?
Do you pray and remember those not well in the hospitals?
Remember when we gladly dry cleaned our old but neat clothes so we may send them to someone in need?
When was the last time we paid for someone’s fare in a bus?
There was a time we did all this and more and God blessed us for it. But nowadays, we tend to concentrate on more ‘spiritual’ stuff; speaking in tongues, prophetic declarations, night vigils, anointing, revelations and the like.
As powerful and effective as those things are when we believe and work them, there is more to our faith in Christ than all that.
Speak gently with one another. Be kind. Share. Let people around you feel the warmth of God’s love. Be patient. Help people around you. Be courteous and Speak in a polite manner.
Dear friends, as we all desire to be spiritual giants, these little ‘good deeds’ like vitamins, are very important too.
Father God I ask for the grace to may walk in love towards all men at all times. Help me to treat others as I desire to be treated. Help me to be pro-active and not reactionary. May I be an example to all in integrity, good character, and love. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray. Amen
