Pray With Authority
“He also established them forever and ever; He made a decree which shall not pass away.”
– Psalm 148:6 (NKJV)
To exercise authority means To govern.
As the works of nature (Wind, Sea, Fig Tree, etc) all obeyed Christ Jesus whenever He issued a decree against them.
Praying with authority, therefore, is “governmental intercession.” So, in essence, this is an issue of government—not politics, but prayer!
Politicians and government officials legislate through man-made laws and rulings. We, the Church of the Living God legislate through spiritual laws, principles, and activities.
Governmental Prayer is how we (the Church) legislate.
In Genesis 1- 3, one of the primary themes of these scriptures is the governmental authority given to Adam. Adam before the Fall was actually created with a nature to rule, to govern, to exercise authority.
Using Webster’s definition of governing, man was created “to direct and control; to maintain the superiority,” not to be lorded over by other people, evil forces or even unfortunate circumstances.
Through the second Adam (Christ Jesus) we were redeemed and our dominion mandate was restored to us.
Hence you as a believer in Christ is an overcomer, a conqueror. You have been restored back to the position of dominion just like the first Adam.
You are now supposed to exercise your mandate by praying as one with authority, not in fear, doubt or frustration.
Child of God, heaven has authorized you, you should exercise your authority now.
Dear Heavenly Father, Help me to see myself the way you see me. Open the eyes of my heart to the truth that through Christ, I have been authorized to govern the earth. I receive boldness and faith to govern in all spheres of life now and always. In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen.
