Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”. Luke 6:38 (NKJV)
I’ll like you to pause and read the second part of this text again, “For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
This ‘b’ part is quite important to understanding the whole verse. We need to note that we are expected not just to receive but to give in good measure! Our giving is also supposed to be pressed down, compacted and shaken together.
And we are finally to give more than we have been asked to give! This is what running over means.
Now, our openness to give our all in whatever we set our minds to do is a key factor that gives us a true covenant position to receive the manifold multifaceted or many-sided blessings of God.
In relationships, work, ministry, family life and all that you are involved in, give your all today and when you do, add a little bit more.
In the name of Jesus I declare, I give abundantly because I have an understanding of my call as a giver. I will not relent, pretend or regress in my giving. My reward is coming in dynamic measures to the praise and glory of the One who gave Himself up for me, even Jesus Christ. Amen.
